What are the Differences Between Automated, Configurable, System, What’s New, and Did You Know Messages?

There are many ways to send messages to users:

·        Use Automated Messages to send customized messages to a user or group of users on a specified date.

·        Use Configurable Messages under Message Management to send customized messages to users based on criteria specified in pre-set message types, currently consisting of days before the scheduled completion of a LearnTrack.

·        Use System Messages under Message Management to configure messages to be sent to users in situations defined in the Message Type, such as reminding users a certain number of days before an achievement expires, or notifying administrators or instructors of a class reaching the registration maximum.

·        Use What’s New and Did You Know messages to display messages on the What’s New page or in the Did You Know box for a user or a group of users, such as a community-wide announcement, or a helpful tip for members of a specific business unit.

LearnFlex also automatically emails users in certain circumstances, such as account activation, course registration, etc. Use Language Tools to modify the text in these messages.
