Message Management Overview

Introduction

Message management allows you to send messages to users based on a predefined date or event.

Unlike automated messages, these messages are sent to all users within a selected community who match the specified parameters of the message. They are not sent immediately, but are sent:

·        Either before or after a specific event occurs, based on the message configuration.

Or

·        After the LearnFlex scheduler notifier runs.

It is assumed that the person receiving the email has: an active LearnFlex account,  a valid primary email address, is enrolled in the session, and is in one of the communities configured to receive the message.

Additionally, the message itself must be set to active for the email to be sent.

Working with Messages

There are two main types of messages: Configurable Messages and System Messages. Configurable messages are messages that you can customize to meet your needs, while a system message is a pre-defined message intended for more generic purposes.

Before messages can be sent out, you must configure the type of message that you want to send, choose where the user can access the message from (either through their Message Centre, email, or both), and when it will be sent (events days).

You can also add customized text to your message, and include message management tokens (variables) as needed.

In addition to sending the message to users within a community, you can also copy other users, such as the curriculum administrator, session instructors, and so on.
