Through the registration section of LearnFlex, an administrative user can manage registration, class lists, and can sign users up for courses and LearnTracks. Users can self-register for courses in User mode. If a user is awaiting manager and/or administrator approval, he/she will be moved into the registered status on the learning plan once approval is granted. The user will then be able to launch the course (if it is an online type of course).
LearnFlex has the capacity to store an enormous amount of personal data about individual users if an organization wishes to collect and store such data. User profile information can be made mandatory, or optional, and can be turned on or off depending on the individual’s user access rights.
Learners are also able to register for courses by checking on their individual learning plans to determine the courses that they need to fulfill their degree or certificate paths. They also have the option of browsing the organization’s course catalogue before logging into the system in order to facilitate the decision making process. Some courses may have prerequisites, which can be either mandatory or recommended. If the prerequisite is recommended, the user will be challenged with a warning message prior to registration.
