This enhancement introduces the ability for users to connect to, and access resources, such as courses, job aids, and books from, SkillSoft’s SkillPort learning management system without leaving the LearnFlex environment. When this functionality is enabled, SkillSoft-related metadata, such as course names, course numbers, and so on, is imported from SkillPort. Using this metadata, courses are created within LearnFlex and updated through a maintenance process for the purposes of tracking user progress and achievements, though the content is hosted on SkillSoft servers.
Note: Only course information is maintained indefinitely in users' learning plans and achievement records. Books, e-guides, job aids and other resources can be accessed in the Recently Viewed sub-menu in users' learning plans for a limited time.
Additionally, two new security settings, 769: SkillSoft Search and 770: Recently Viewed, have been added and will display the SkillSoft Search and Recently Viewed sub-menus in User mode.
Enabling this functionality requires configurations that cannot be performed from within the LearnFlex user interface. Contact your LearnFlex representative for details.
The Overdue Course report provides a quick view of users’ progress in meeting target due dates for their learning activities.
Follow these steps to configure LearnFlex for use with this report:
1. Enable security setting 771: Overdue Course Report to display the Overdue Course report, the Time Allotted in Days field in courses, the Target Date Column in users’ profiles and the Calculate Time Allotted from Courses box in LearnTracks and diplomas.
2. In the Time Allotted in Days field, enter the amount of days users will have to complete the course.
Note: You can use the Target Date column in users’ profiles to adjust the time allotted for each user enrolled in the applicable learning activity.
3. Check the Calculate Time Allotted from Courses box to set the bundle due date according to the value entered in the Time Allotted in Days field for the mandatory course with the most amount of time allotted.
When this box is checked, the value in the Time allotted for completion field becomes unavailable and is populated with the value in the Time Allotted in Days field.
Note: The dates entered in these fields are for reporting purposes only and are not displayed in User mode.
4. Create an account custom field.
Note: The value entered in the External ID field for this custom field must be ‘SupervisorName’.
5. Enter a value in the new custom field on the Custom Fields screen of every user account you want to make available to the report.
Note: The value entered in this field will be the value that is shown in the Supervisor Name column in the report results.
6. Click Save on the Custom Fields screen of every account you want to make available to the report.
Hint: Users with access to custom fields in their User mode Profiles menus can enter and save their own supervisor’s names.
This enhancement introduces the ability to enter links to resources in the User mode Links menu that correspond with all languages used in LearnFlex.
To support this functionality, the URL field on the Resources Administration screen has been updated so that different resource addresses can be entered for each language selection in the Language drop-down list.
To make it easier to change the settings for several languages, the Resources Administration screen now refreshes, instead of redirecting administrators to the list of resources upon saving.
Note: If no value is entered in the URL field for a language, users will be directed to the resource specified for the default language in LearnFlex.
Note: Resource URLs must contain the entire address, including the protocol (for example: https://onlinehelp.learnflex.net, or ftp://onlinehelp.learnflex.net instead of onlinehelp.learnflex.net). If the address is incomplete, the URL will be appended to your main LearnFlex address (for example: http://www.learnflex.net/users/onlinehelp.learnflex.net) and an error will be displayed upon clicking the link.
