Priority in Searches

You can assign priorities to certain courses, LearnTracks, target catalogues, and subject areas in LearnFlex as a way of sorting the order in which they appear in searches in User mode. This can help administrators target learning activities towards learners. Priorities are indicated through the use of a number. A higher number indicates a higher ranking in the list. For example, if there are three catalogues named Animal, Vegetable, and Mineral, then when searching for courses by catalogue, the catalogue results would display the three catalogues in the following order: Animal, Mineral, and Vegetable. However, if Vegetable is given a priority of 22, and the others are not given a priority, then the results would be shown instead as: Vegetable, Animal, and Mineral.

For courses and LearnTracks, the priority also indicates how they will be ranked in Admin mode searches. This allows administrators to view priorities without needing to access each individual course or LearnTrack.

Priority can also be assigned to Visual reports, but in that case, it determines the order in which the reports will be displayed to users.

Items that have the same priority are then sorted alphabetically. Items with no priority assignment are sorted alphabetically after the priority items.
