Introduction
Use this section to associate a competency with a LearnTrack. This allows you to indicate if a competency should be achieved automatically when the user completes the LearnTrack.
Optionally, you can also indicate if the user’s outcome (pass or fail) in the LearnTrack will automatically apply to the associate competency, and what that status should be.
Additionally, you can also indicate, upon passing the LearnTrack and therefore the competency, how long the competency will remain valid. Generally, this is indicated when the competency was created in the Competency module, but can be overridden here on a per-LearnTrack basis.
To associate a competency with a LearnTrack, the following needs to be configured:
· Create the competency (consisting of a competency authority, competency outcome type, and competency outcome) within the Competency module.
· Associate the competency with a job position competency.
· Make sure that the job position competency associated with the competency is selected as one of the job positions in the LearnTrack (audience). Otherwise, outcome types will not be visible when authority is selected.
Procedure
1. From the Courses menu, click Bundle Management.
2. Locate the LearnTrack that you want to manage.
3. Select the Competency Map left-hand side menu.

4. Use the Competency Authority drop-down list to select the competency authority whose details you want to configure for this LearnTrack.
Each competency outcome types associated with the selected competency authority will be displayed as blue drop-down lists.
5. Click the down arrow of the competency outcome type that you want to manage.

6. For each outcome, you can perform the following operations:
· Check the Achieved Through box to indicate that the selected competency will be achieved through this LearnTrack. Unselected LearnTracks means that the LearnTrack outcome will be ignored when completed.
· Use the Default Status drop-down list to specify the status that the competency will have when the user passes the LearnTrack. The values in this list are defined in the Competency Status module.
· In the Valid for # of months field, enter the number of months that the competency will be valid for.
· Use the Fail Status drop-down list to specify the status that the competency will have when the user fails the LearnTrack. The values in this list are also defined in the Competency Status module.
7. Click Save to keep your changes.
